This is the engine:
LS/VTEC 84mm
9.1CR
Skunk2 Pro1 cams
Hondata S300
Bosch 1600cc
E85
We tried to start the engine today but it didn't start. Checked the bougies, no fuel.. Checkes some things, didn't find anything special, but suddenly it started. After little tuning it idled pretty well. We turned it off, and few minute's later we tried to start it again, but it didn't work. After lot of tries he came to life, and runs perfect.
We've let him cool down a few hours, and started it whitout to much trouble. We drove a few miles, and stopped it because of cooling problems. After about 30 minutes the ECT was dropped to about 50deg *C and we tried to start it. Again no life. After a lot of tries with some time between it it started again. We drove 1 min, and the engine fell out because of the heavy clutch. Whitout any problem it started again. After 10-15 min driving we stopped it, and started it again whitout problem.
About 1 hour later we tried to start it, no life.. Again checking everything, en kept trying, suddenly it did start. Turned it off, and didn't start again. After lot of tries it did start again. Turned off, start again, no prob. Turned off, start again, no prob. Turned off, start again, no prob. 2 min later, tried to start again.. no life..
As you see, it looks like there isn't any relation between engine temp, and starting or not. When it does start, it runs very wel immediately, with a lambda value about 0.85-1. Every time it doesn't start, it seems like the engine doesn't get any drop of fuel.
There is enough fuel pressure (45 psi). We changed the fuel relais. And it seems like it hasn't have anything to do with the ecu.
Does anybody have a suggestion what this problem can be?
Already thanks.

If you have a fuel pressure gauge check and see what the fuel pressure is at next time it does not start. I had a customers car doing the same thing. I changed the main relay and the problem was still occurring. It ended up being a bad fuel pump. Once it got hot it would die out/no fuel pressure. Sometimes it would run for an hour then die. Sometimes it would only run 10 minutes.

We might have found the problem. The 1600cc Bosch injectors do now work with a resistorbox. Maybe when the battery is low, there isn't enough power to open the injector. Now I mention, most times the car did start, it was on a batterycharger, or it did run a few sec before. It also explains why there's either enough fuel, or there's nothing.
A injector driver will be installed quick, I hope that works. I'll let know.
