Default LS vtec turbo piston compression ratio?

I was wondering what the best compression ration would be for an LS vtec turbo application. The block is a non-vtec B18B1 with a GSR head. The turbo is a t/3 with .42 / .48. How high of a ration can you run on pump gas? And how hight would you want it - with the turbo. Thanks

JE forged recommended ? Would running something lower than 9.0 allow me to put more air into the cylinders and help the turbo at higher boost levels - assuming the exhuast is opened to accomodate. Thanks again.
