Default LS Vtec Turbo

I know this topic has been covered a hundred times and i'v been doing alot of reading. Basically I have a built ls vtec ported & Polished head fearra valve train high compression ect. Basically my question is what size turbo would I need and what the best compression ratio to turbo would be. I know my 12:8:1 is way to high and I hear every one talk about the 8:5 to 9:0 range but I need specifics. For example my goal is around 360-400whp so would it be smart to go with a nice turbo mani or should I stick with a log style tell I see what my numbers are or like what turbo what trim who makes the best waste gate/ blow off valve how big of pipe I should run ect. I spent alot of money on quality parts for my current build so just give me good advise and point me in the right direction I want to take my time to do this right thanks for your time every one hope you all can help

Your right about the 9:1 and 8.5:1 compression ratio. If it were me i would run a 3inch downpipe because thats just what i like to do. Tial makes a good wastegate and greddy makes a good bov. Log style manifolds are good till about 350 horse i believe but im not sure. A ram horn would probably be better for the higher power. 2.5 inch innercooler piping or bigger would probably be the best route. There is b16 turbo thread that would be good to check out to see numbers and setups that other people are running it would give you some ideas of a good place to start. I know its not an ls vtec but the turbo setups should be about the same on both. That would be a good place to find out turbo trim size and things like that.

I am running 9:1 compression pistons on a stock b16 head and semi built ls block ( rods.. rings.. pistons.. bearings ect)... I am hitting 380 whp at 16 psi on 93 octane 50 trim t3/t4 mini-ramhorn( btw psi means nothing.. but still). Tuners have come a long way and if I had to do it again.. I would bump up to 10:1 compression pistons and if you have a buitl head.. i would take advatange of throughing in a mild cam in there. You can most likely pull 400whp out of it around 14 psi with doing a mild cam and up the compression with a 60 trim and on 93 octane.

I am not an expert on what size turbo you want to run.. but if you just want 400whp the 60 trim has great response and i still have room to improve.
