Default LS/Vtec Questions

I am planning on doing a LS/Vtec Setup in the near future, and I have some questions for people that have done it before.

I will be using a second gen JDM B16A Head, will there be any problems I would run into with matting it to the B18 block?

Can and If I use my P30 pistons in a B18B block, what conecting rods can/should I use?

What modifications, if any have to be made to the head gasket?

Any other info on this would be great, thanks.

1. All vtec heads that are mated to non-vtec blocks have the same problem, need to drill and tap and run an external oil line.

2. p30 pistons are perfect, no mods to the stock LS rods needed, CR around 11.7 ish with b16 head

3. Run a stock LS head gasket.

Good Luck

Sweet, thanks. I have another question now.

http://www.tornactive.com/pd_g...c.cfm

If I were to buy this LS/Vtec conversion kit, what fittings would I have to use?

One more question for everyone.

I will be buying a header before I put the B18 block in. Will a B16A header work with a LS/Vtec setup? Will there be enough clearance for the longer block?

I had to dent (and repaint) my oil pan in when I installed the ITR header, but not that much.

So should I get a B18A1/B header or will any other one work without modding the oil pan.

Another question I have is, is that I will be using P30 0.25 OS Pistons. But Golden Eagle doesnt make a 81.25mm bore LS/Vtec kit.

So I will have to buy the GE sandwich plate, fittings, dowel pins, and oil lines seperatly. Along with a LS head gasket from Acura. My question is this. Will I have to mod the head gasket in any way? Or does anyone know a place that has 81.25mm bore Golden Eagle LS/Vtec Kits?
