Default LS/VTEC Question(distributor and hondata)

I have a working LS motor right now, i was just wondering if i can use the distributor casing from my motor and install a 1994 civic ex internals into the casing. I know for a fact that it fits in there, i am just wondering if the LS casing will fit on a B16 head, and will the vtec work or not?

I also wanted to know if anybody knew about hondata. I want to know if you can just buy the s100 chip if you know how to install it in the ECU yourself. And how much would it cost?

If they cant just sell my the chip

I don't know how that all works, do i have to send in my ecu and then they send me it back with the chip in it, or do i just buy the p28 ecu with the chip in it already from them?

If i could get any ideas about this i'd appreciate it.

it can work with the distributor but it is ill advised IN addition you would have to cut off one ls distributor leg to make it work which will not be a good idea u can get a new distributor for like 175 @ distributor king or streetimportonline.com . In regard if u want u can run hondata but its free to run uberdata that is what i run on my car currently .The hondata system or uberdata will still need to be socketed u can get that done for like 50 bucks .If you want hondata contact lightning motorsports they have the best pricing ,they have discounted socketed and free shipping pm me if u have ne more ?

thanks, I don't understand what you meant about uberdata but maybe you could be willing to elaborate for me. How much? and quality? compared to hondata. Also what do you think about Skunk2 ecu's.

I think i need to sell three distributors

OBD1 LS distributor
OBD2 LS distributor
OBD2 GSR distributor

What do you think i could get for those three? Price wise. And maybe you know someone who could be interested.

skunk ecu is ok if u r not driving on the street but its really , really rich so its really not going to be all that great as compared to one that is custom tuned for your exact setup i don't mean some 1 stab in the dark chip. U can make an enormous amount of changes using hondata or uberdata .btw uberdata can do anything hondata can and the only thing u pay for with uberdata is hardware ie the jumper obd2-1 wire 60.00 . a p28 or a obd 1 ecu 100 tops , datalogging cable 10.00 @ radioshack , from there if u go 2 the uberdata forum and use the directory u can find writeup on how to install the stuff its really easy or get some 1 to do it for u for 50.00 bucks . btw hondata charges 150 for datalogging feature, 250-275 for a basemap which hondata says may not run your car great " get it tuned they say " ftl is 100 its free on uberdata and fts with cel shift lift is also free on uberdata also like 100 @ hondata all the features will less than half the cost check it out http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/

I did some reading. It just seems too easy! Is that all you have to do?? It doesn't seem like uberdata is making any money on this whole deal.

So once you attach the usb cable on to the ecu then you just plug it in the computer and open up the bin for whatever you want?

I don't have vtec yet and i have an OBD1 LS motor. If i already have an OBD1 car then i don't need that $60 cable to convert OBD2-1 right?

Also i have a p09 ecu. Could i use that to tune a non vtec motor or will that not work? Just so i can get the hang of it you know and also learn how to install the cable in the ecu. It seems really interesting though.

In the ecu is the vtec chip in the spot labelled 'IC4' by any chance.

The p09 ecu doesn't have a chip there and i was wondering if you could almost put any vtec chip there or not???

Just curious if you could clear up some more stuff for me thanks!!!

u can use your present obd 1 ecu 1 p08 or a p09 can be converted to p28 but if u don't have vtec yet don't worry about u can use a p28 or p61 or p72 and don't have vtec u will throw a code . But no uberdata makes no real money but u can donate @ anytime. But u can play around with it b careful with your soldering 2 hot ecu is done . I use butt end connectors and extend the wires u can get most of the stuff from radioshack . But i had some 1 do most of work and i just finished up my hands are not steady enough
