Default ls vtec question

I am thinking of going ls vtec in a da integra. My question is witch head gives best hp everyone ive heard of is using b16 heads but i was just wondering if you could use a gsr head if it would be better worse more hp less hp i dont know that much about hybrid engines so i trust you guys to give me an answer i can trust.
thanks for any info

most people use the b16 head cause they are cheaper and easier to find then a gsr or a type r. both heads will work, just that the gsr head will give u a higher compression than the b16. i dont know the h/p difference but im thinkn the gsr will be a little more than the b16. i guess it all depends on the application and what all u got done with it.

stock to stock the gsr head would be much better , but like he said most people do not buy the GSR because of the price..It's much cheaper to buy a b16a head , take out the valvetrain and put in ITR internals..

i have alway heard ppl say to use:
-b16/itr head for narurally aspirated
-gsr head for forced induction
it has been my understanding that the b16/itr heads flow better than the gsr head

It's pretty widely known that the B16A head is the BEST flowing B-series head.

Yes better than B18C5 and B18C1.

Don't worry about the compression thing, pistons or a head gasket can easily solve that problem.

The head won't give you torque......the bottom end will.

I like the GSR head and manifold better in stock form or built.... That's probably why Erick's Racing runs that kind of setup. Skunk2 manifolds are gay. Latez

yea, a lot of people go with the b16 head, because of its price.

Says who? Check out import review by jeff at import builder. They got more hp out of the gsr head, and claim that it is the best head for an ls/vtec setup. I had a b16 head, switched to a gsr; it was definetly the best decision. My opinion is to go with the gsr head.

From what I read the GSR head only gives you .2 more in compression than the B16. Correct me if i'm wrong.

B16 is ku cuz if u dont' ahve the money for a itr u can save up and get the itr intake manifold.. itr cams.. itr valve train.. stuff like that..

The P72 combustion chamber is 41.6cc's and the PR3 is 42.7cc's. The difference isn't that much compression wise ur right, only ~0.2:1. But what I like is the manifold. A lot of people don't like it and say that it was the worst one ever invented but then why would Honda have made it? The secondary butterflies are there for a reason even tho i take them out. The GSR head may be a little more expensive too but for stock cams you get a tad more lift over B16 and the cool manifold to extrude hone if you want. Just my opinion again but i like that **** better.
