Default LS/VTEC overheating

I know you guys love hearing about cars during the summer time that overheat... If you don't want to help stop reading!

Now that that's out of the way...

Got a LS/VTEC, turbo with 2.5" downpipe and e-cutout, new pistons, new rods, headgasket, waterpump, yaddy yaddy...

Car has been over heating recently really only when I'm cruising on the highway around 3-4kRPM. Doesn't overheat while its idling. Fan comes ON and blowing the right direction. I've changed out the radiator to now an aluminum one. Changed out thermostat. Waterpump was new when the motor was built. No mixing of coolant or oil. Good compression in all cylinders.

I've flushed the radiator out, and have bled it. Also have tried using water wetter as well.... Still continues to overheat (at least on the gauge)

I have not changed the gauge sensor though.

Another thing is that the IACV appears to be "buzzing" at times, but the idle appears to be stable.

Just an FYI, the timing is correct and has been street tuned.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Can you datalog? If so what are the actual temps? Are you losing any coolant? I'll bet the car has A/C too? I 've seen radiator/condenser proximity cause problems on DC2s.

The temperature does increase significantly I don't remember off hand how hot it got with datalogging. There is no A/C.

Another guy on here had a buddy who had a FITV that was stuck and caused over heating but not exactly like mine.... Any role in FITV and IACV playing in this?

I've replaced it with a new one and it still overheats... I guess I can always try a lower temp one.

I just dont understand why it would overheat when the car is cruising but NOT when its just idling. <-- thats the weird part!

Take off the radiator cap fill radiator with fluid and start car if water doesn't jump out tru radiator ur good if it does then ur screwed

Is ur radiator fan cycling on and off, Is it running at all?

If so is ur fan aftermarket,Try installing the stock one n trim the shroud 2 get it to fit.

If no shroud then try installing the shroud or just get a aftermarket fan full size 1 the biggest u can fit with out cutting and fabing

Check to see if ur radiator is dirty inside clog or has some type of restriction

Its aftermarket because the shroud wont fit. Pretty much no way... its a tight fit.

I switched out the old one and got a new aluminum radiator, and its still doing it...

Did you punch a hole in it where it block off the coolant passage?

Ok never mind then. Just had one that was a headach. customer built his own motor and couldnt figuar out why it was over heating. He had to punch the hole through on his gasket. when he did he didnt remove the small pice that punched through. So when the coolant tried to pass through it used that pice as a door and closed under pressure/flow. causing coolant no to beable to cerculate properly.

Never had a problem with the car during the winter/spring time... now its hotter its overheating, but like I said its freaken over heating like at 3-4kRPM cruising... Doesn't make any sense to me. I'll have to double check the tune again, maybe my O2 sensor was whacky that day and its a bad tune in that range... <SHRUG>

look try n reinstall old fan with shroud hack the crap out of it zip ties wat ever cause shrouds help alot cause they direct the air flow directly at the radiator fins sometimes the air can flow around da radiator wih out the shroud reducing its efficiency.Or try installing a fan in front
