I am going to fit a b18c1 head to a b18a1 block. There is a small oil control fitting in the middle of the b18a1 block deck. Is this re-used? I thought this little oil fitting was discarded with a vtec head? Am I thinking of another combo like the "mini-me"??

i'm not following you very well. but this is the answer to your question if i read it correctly.

For your set-up you will be running an external oil feed in which you have to block up the oil gallery in the head as the B18a block doesn't have a channel to feed oil to the head. you block off this hole with a 1/8NPT plug...

Is that what you wanted to know?

Thanks for getting back to me. I have the VTEC oil connection prepared. My question concerns the oil fitting in the middle of the block. I will try a picture. The item is a little round fitting with a tiny o ring. It goes right in the middle of the block. It is called an "oil control orifice" in the manual.
Rats, I can't upload the picture. Do you know the little fitting ?
I have an idea. I will go look at a b18c1 engine and see if the fitting is used on that block!!!!!!

 

GREAT DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! haha. Sometimes I wonder why I am a blockhead. I simply went to the b18c1 block pictures which show the same little oil control device on the top of that block. Case closed.
