All of these motors are DOHC:

B18B- LS motor. Non-vtec, 1.8L's.
B20B/Z- CRV motor. Non-vtec, 2.0L's. No boring needed, comes 2.0 from factory.

LS/V- B18B with a VTEC head. Any VTEC head will work (i.e. B16, b18c1, C5, etc.)
CRVTEC or B20/V- B20B/Z with VTEC head.

Anything that read B--- are engine codes. Things like LS/V or B20/V are labels that have been put on the motors by people in general.

So when people are reffering to ls turbo, they mean b18b+T?But what if someone bores the ls to 84.5,would that be a B20b-or is that expression not used in such a configuration?

Thanks

LS bored to 84.5 is just that- a b18 bored to 2.0L

the b20 is an entirely differant engine. you cant call a bored b18 a b20.

So what is the setup of the allmotor ls/vtec guys? They are probably bored?

Is there any specific vtec head that would be the best for the ls/vtec setup?
And how much is the ls motor going for?And how are the prices on the heads?

Thanks people,i learnd a lot on H-T!

they probably have an ls block (b18b) w/ either a b16a1 head or a b18c1 head from a gsr. if you are going turbo the b16 is better b/c of the lower compression and it breathes easier than the b18c series heads. you can probably get an ls long block for 800 or so and a b16 head for under 400. if you are going the b18c route for a head you are looking in the upwards of 600+.
