I have seen guys on honda-acura.net that have done this (I believe you need to use a shorter rod) however you will have the same benefit of the longer stroke
of the LS crank w/ more CR... while benefitting from the VTEC infrastructure that is already there... IMO it seems to be the best way to go LS VTEC.

It's not uncommon to put the LS crank in a B18C at all. Just remember, the counter weights will not clear the oil squirters. They will have to be removed, the holes drilled out, re-tapped and plugged with a bolt (or just welded shut). With that said, why not just go w/ a B18A/B (the only diff. would be the additional VTEC oil line anyways...no biggie.)

Have you personally seen that they hit the oil squirters or had experience with this?

I wouldn't do all that for 37cc of displacement. Plus the LS crank isn't as strong, isn't as well balanced, and doesn't oil as well at high RPM. Not to mention the drop in r/s ratio, unless you use raised pin pistons & longer rods(Eagle).

LS cranks are just as strong(if not stronger due to their increased mass)than B18C cranks. Balancing is performed equally well on both cranks. I don't know about the oiling characteristics though, but I must say....I have not seen any journal differences. Just my $.02

It's funny that you mention that the counterweights will hit the oil squirters... but you don't mention anything about the deck height of the B18c block if you use LS rods and an LS crank.

I don't know what or who to believe, since no one replies with any detailed information about this.

Deck height is the same with both blocks. GM2000ITR is right.

So would an LS rod be shorter than a B18c rod? I don't get this anymore.

LS rods are shorter and yes you can keep the oil squirters. I've been able to keep them with my 95mm crank eventhough it required some custom work.

What kind of custom work?

machine off one corner of the squirter block, shorten the tubes and bend them a little, and finally neck-down the end so that they are the same diameter at the end as stock.

I have done this many times and have found no clearance issues thus far.

Believe both of us. I'm talking about what has to be done to keep the squirters with a 95mm crank.

He's talking about an LS crank. Shouldn't be any clearance issues with that.
