Default lowering coolant temp.

im trying to lower my coolant temp. for a few reasons. im not overheating but im turbo charged and i have a/c on my gsr. I was thinking on buying a lower rated thermostat but i dont know which company to go with. I have heard of the mugen one but i cant find them online. Has anyone tried the mishimoto or the arc thermostats? which thermostat would drop my temperature significantly lower than the oem thermostat.

If you wana lower ect's high temp coat your exhaust mani and heat wrap it too.
Add a turbo blanket to your turbine housing
Build a fan radiator shroud, also a higher rated cfm fan.
Try using water wetter in your engine coolant. Its allows the coolant to flow threw your engine with less resistance resulting in better cooling.
Get a lower temp thermostat.
try mounting your intercooler in a place where it gives your radiator better air flow.

I have this problem now.My intercooler takes up all my space in the bumper.
My temps raise only on the freeway. This is because the factory fan mph limit is 35.
Since I have no airflow to the radiator the fan shuts off at 35 and the temps raise.
What I did to help this is raise my mph for the automatic fan shut off in my hondata. To about 80mph.

I'm still going to try a diffrent mounting position to help get better airflow to the radiator.

install an oil cooler.
this will help keep the coolant temps down.
a modified thermostat will open sooner, but not cool better.
You could also go with a larger radiator. Koyo half rad duel core, if you dont already have one.

i never knew that the fan shuts off after 35 mph. im on ectune im curious if ectune does that. but anyway im interested in the water wetter what is that and where can i find it and how much do i use. also i just want to get pointed in the right direction with the right thermostat. what do you think about the mishimoto thermostat or if you recommend any other brand. i already did the blanket on the turbo.

i just recently figured out why i get a higher temp when running a/c. since my radiator is half sized it doesnt get much air flow. when i turn my a/c on the condensor get very hot when using a/c. so now im getting hot air from outside then hot air from condensor then hot air from engine bay.

so now im trying to change my thermostat on my gsr and not use the oem. just wanted to know if anyone had advise about a certain one.

The water wetter can be found at autozone.
There's 2 ways to use it. With 50/50 coolant and water wetter.
Or a bottle. Of water wetter and the rest water. If done this way the coolant will need to be flushed if sitting for very long times.
It cost about 10 bucks a bottle.
I used it and helped my temps from 230 down to 208.
After I switched the mph to 80 my temps stood at 199 I still need to help airflow to the radiator and build a fan shroud.
I haven't used any other thermostats other than oem or felpro so I can't comment on aftermarket much.

so if i get prestone coolant into my motor and one bottle of water weller which is 12 oz bottle i should be good? what do you mean by sitting for a long time. like if you only drive the car 2 days out of 7 or if you barely drive your car. can i mess anything up by using the water weller wrong?

anyone with aftermarket thermostats?

I mean sitting for months at a time not days.
Yes a 50/50 coolant water mix plus a bottle of water wetter will help temps but is most effective with pure water wich has a higher boiling point.
