I recently swapped a Fully built and balanced D16y8 Block (1999) Eagle Rods, Endyn Rollerwave 10:1 CR forged pistons (.020 overbore) with a D16z6 cylinder head and ZEX Cam 59100 into my eg. It runs like a champ but im getting really annoyed with the diesel ( big rig ) sound that seems to be thanks to the camshaft. I was wondering if there is anything that i can do to ease the noise down.

 

Adjust the valves to the proper clearances, it has too much right now.

besides the valve adjustments, it is typical of aftermarket cams to be noisy, it's their nature same goes for the forged pistons. deal with it or return it to stock simple as that.
