Hi all,

I've got a 2002 and a 2012 Odyssey, both of which periodically require reading OBD2 codes, so I'd like to purchase a dongle and some software that can reliably read and report information that can help me diagnose issues. The issue that I am most concerned with is the ability to read/stream/report the Honda-specific extension codes.

So I've got two purchases to make: The dongle and the software (of course some come as a set as well)

• Many of the modestly priced WiFi dongles seem to enable streaming data to an iPhone app, but it is totally unclear to me whether they are able to report the extended Honda codes.
• Some of the iPhone apps have in-app purchases for certain makes and models, but I've not yet found one that has the Honda codes for purchase.

May I ask you to share any experiences you have regarding either the dongle or software please that would help to narrow down the choices available?

Dongles specifically tailored for Hondas with and without CAN-BUS systems are almost non existent. OBD Solutions of course makes a nice OBDLink MX WiFi that can work, but may not give all of the codes in the format that you're used to. But OBDWiz is freeware that you can pick up to work on a laptop, and OBDLink Software can be seen by a mobile phone. (Hard to say if they are iPhone compatible, because few people with iPhones do DIY at the same time. (J/K)
