Default LMA's?

so i recently decided to get my first honda, a 99 si so far i am very happy with the car. didn't expect this much power out of a 1.6L. however there is a problem with the car that i didn't really notice when i bought the car, because when i bought it the car was already warm and you really only can hear it when the car is cold. the problem is a ticking noise that has no real rythim to it, sometimes its not there and sometimes its ticking away. sounds like its in the head, and i know rod knocks have rythim usually. from the threads i have been reading it looks like lma's except for they never mention the noise going away when the car warms up. the car still runs fine all the time no misses or anything like that car runs great. so i was just wondering what people who know about these cars think because i don't know alot about them yet. any help would be greatly appreicated

lmas are there for when its outta vtec. warm or not. when vtecs not enguaged the middle rocker hits the lma i believe. usually if its the lma when vtec engauges you shouldnt hear it hitting the lma. test it out. i mean how bad is the ticking? cause you can hear bseries tick anyways. lol.

ya i can hear the b series tick all thie time lol but i know thats pretty normal. and you can't hear it when the vtec engages or at anything over like 3k rpm's. its basically only at idle. best i could describe the sound is something jumping around in the valve cover because of how oddly spaced the tics are

yea i think its one of the lmas or somthin. maybe a few. idk what goes wrong with lmas but i know theres a spring in there. maybe it collapsed or somthing. take off your valve cover. you can get your finger to them and push on them and they will have a springy feel to them. theyre under the middle rocker.
