Default knock sensor question

if i remove the plug from the knock sensor it should throw the code right

yes, and also depends on if the ecu has the knock feature

it didnt throw thw code when i unpluged it but it throws it sometimes when im driving

It should throw the code and CIL should come on after a few minutes. This is when the sensor is bad or if a short in the wire or if unplugged.
