K20A2 BENT VALVE
So here's the problem, a buddy of mine just picked up a k20a2 swap with a bent valve. Unfotunately he met up with the guy and doesn't have any paper work, so he really doesn't have much of a dispute to give the guy because he just might deny everything. Well anyway we took the manifold off and saw one of the intake valves was bent a bit. Not to long after that i decided to look at the spark plug just in case, so sure enough the thing is smashed in. I've never delt with a bent valve issue/ smashed plug, so I don't know what to expect when helping him taking it apart. Can that issue completely demolish the internals of the motor? I'm hoping that the motor itself is still usable but I want to see if anyone has had a similar problem and what you found out once you took it apart. Thanks
What Mods have been done to the engine previously...If the head was milled un-properly that could have caused the problem, I would assume the piston has sever damage considering the plug was smashed. Just my assumption, but lets here from more experienced feedback...
only way to tell is pull the head off and see.
(or a fiber optic camera through the spark plug hole, but not many people have those just laying around hehe)
If the spark plug is smashed up I'll the head snapped off the valve and tore up the combustion chamber. That will make the head and the piston trash. the piston skirt may be torn up but I think you can have a machine shop resleave it... (can you do that to a K20?)
