Default K20 vs F22C???

ok this may be stupid but in all honestly which is a better engine reliablilty and performance wise

i know the k- series motors are amazing motors that are very reliable and love mods but in all honesty how do they compare to the F22C motor.

i think that trade should have more to do with what you're looking for out of your car than what motors they have. those cars are almost complete opposites...

i think honda reliability in general pretty much speaks for itself. the decision is what platform you'd rather have, front engine front drive or front engine rear drive...

About 99% of Honda vehicles and engines are reliable. so you shouldn't have any problem with which ever Honda vehicle you buy.

06 Si vs. S2000 vehicles themeselves are 2 different beasts.

Here's a few quick mixed bag of pros & cons of either engines that come to mind:

K20:
- has way more bolt-on upgrade & parts potential vs. F20/22C engine
- Engine management (ECU upgrade) can be more effective in comparision to a the F20/22 ecu upgrade.
- Engine parts are easier to find if something goes wrong with motor vs. F20/22C.
- you can't drop a F20/22C into another civic or integra body as easily

F20/22C:
- has more torque, displacement, and power over K20
- not to many bolt on upgrades show performance gains because this engine is designed to make optimum power out-the-box, unless you go forced induction.
- hondata reflash is highly suggested to kill the drive by wire lag
- S2000 = rear wheel drive, obviously a different platform vs Si (front wheel drive); might take some getting use to when performance driving.
- S2000's are tiite in general
