Default just recalibrated TPS, big difference!!!!

I just wanted to let people know, because i didnt know.

I had no vtec for a few months then found out that TPS crapped on me.
After replacement, noticed that Vtec did not feel the same as when the motor was working fine previously.i drove the car for a whole year with out recalibrating it, i didnt know that the voltage needed to be within spec at idle .45-.5 and wot at 4.5. when i first check the tps the voltage at idle was at .15

anyways i finally found out how to recalibrate the tps with a volt meter with no prior experience with the volt meter, i turned the **** on the volt to 20V, and had it recalibrated at idle .45 wot 4.53.

VTEC kicked in hard, pulled harder, No tricks playin with my head, this by the way is a type r swap ek.

okay i got a question...

you have two prongs with the volt meter

i set it to 20v.

which wire does the positive prong (red) go into,
which prong does the negative (black) prong go into?

i had the red one in the middle (red/black) and the negative on the far right wire (green/white) I was getting readings that were jumping from like 1.25 to 4.35 then back down to 2.14 and it just kept doing that constantly. I finally got it to settle down from jumping around and it read -4.78 and i kept twisting the tps till it read -4.50 (notice the negative sign...) then tightened it down.

then i tried again to stick the prongs in the same place, but i coudln't get any kind of reading... help.

i'll try again later today.

Have a steady hand. if the prongs on the volt meter is pointy and sharp at the end you just poke it in there, yes the red goes with the red and the green/yellow with the ground /black. It could be easier if you had a friend helping you out.

Here check this out. it tells you all the diy and im directing you to the tps sensor part

Yeah the prongs are pointy. I just stuck them into the plug the way the wires were going into it...this tells me otheriwse....

It doesn't matter what it says at open throttle.

i drove the car yesterday and today though and it seems fine.( no check engine light like before) i'll post an update if anything changes.
