just pulled head need help on installing distributor
I was told that if I put the distributor on and it is tilted in any direction it can advance or retard my timing, is this true? If so, then how do I put it back on without changing my timing? Also is it possible to have a blown head gasket and the gasket to look fine when inspected?

WOW...I yet again don't know how to respond to this one.
Why don't you buy a Honda service manual/Helms Manual/Haynes manual

the distributor will fit right into the grooves on the camshaft one way. then u just get a timing light and line up the marks however u want. are you running aftermarket cam gears? did u make sure the number one cylinder was a top dead center b4 pullin the head?

No I did not set the number one cylinder back to TDC before pulling out the cams. I did notice the groove for the intake cam on the distributor but I was told that if I turn the distributor it will change the timing just wanted to get some info. My cam gears were both set to zero though. So when I put the timing belt back on I just make number one cylinder is at TDC and that both cams are pointing up to 0?

Cam timing and ignition timing aren't interchangeably related. You can change the ignition timing by changing the Intake cam timing, but not vice versa.
Set the base distributor timing a little retarded when you go to first start it up. Warm it up and then set the ignition timing with a timing gun. See service manual for details of the procedure. There are a couple of them floating around on-line.

Not my problem you ran out of money building a monster car. But seriously, its a very smart investemnt to get a OEM service manual. Every question you have can be answered in the book and it also tells you how to do pretty much everything. Its going to be your best $50 you spend other than C-16
