i just checked to see if my tranny has lsd(its supposed to) On the casing of my suposedly 97jdm itr tranny says j4d lsd. Well i wanted to make shure i have lsd. So i jack up the car to spin the tires to see if both will spin. Well only one spins not the other....wtf? Did i just pay my hard earned money for a type r tranny and not get one?

 

umm/// wired- okay take the long shot here, take ur axles out, both side! check the "HOLE" if it doesnt have a shaft in it, ur OKAY! if it has a shaft in it, u got screw over. once the axles off u should beable to see thr it.

 

yeah thats what im going to do when i take it to the shop to get the timing sorted out. What should i do if that shop sold me a b16tranny? the weird thing is it says j4d lsd on the casing....is it possible they could of taken the lsd out? what should i do if they jipped me? im thinking small claims court

 

umm that suxx, its possible they switch the "CASING" an gave u an regular GSR,or b16 tranny. but i dunno..!! and if they did sold u a none lsd tranny, u should sue them !!! PS what is the shop name ?? and location.. so i can watch out for.

 

well im not exaclty 100% shure but i know both tires didnt spin when i spun a tire when both were off the ground the bar code says s80 on it. im going to have a shop take off the axles and inspect it for me......if its not lsd further action will be taken. Weird thing is they put white stuff on the brackets for the tranny....why would they do this?

i was just reading on this and they were talking about you can really tell from jacking it up and spinning on tire. What if you jack up the car and you spin one wheel and the other dont spin at all? and you checked for lsd through were the axles are placed. Bad diff?

 

Was the car in gear? Thats the only way the test will work.

Or you could just fire her up and do a burn out to see if both wheels are spinning....
