JUN 3 to Crower 403 and...
now the car wont start unless I give it gas, and wont stay on unless I keep the throttle down. its a billet 66MM throttle body, with a Victor X manifold, Iac is connected. Car Idled fine and started by itself until I switched the cams, I also switched to skunk2 cam gears which are at 0, any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Did you tighten your cam gears? If they were brought brand new and you just slapped them on, i bet you slipped a cam gear. Pop the valve cover and check your gears.
cam journal clearance ok? i'm sure you plastigauged it before final install and start up. did you remember the assembly lube?
if assembly went without a hitch, depending on if your car is OBD I or II, maybe an ecu reset, as the change in timing, breathing, and idle control have changed?

Ya I did tighten the cam gears, I rechecked the timing after running it for a couple min. it was on the money.I didnt check the clearances, I did use the lube, but those two things wouldnt make any difference as far the car maintaining idle by itself. Im gonna try and reset the ECU today its OBD 1.
Did you adjust your valves? Odds are, if you didn't, they're probably tight as ****. If they're tight, your car won't idle on its own unless you press the gas pedal.

Think I may have got it , reset the ecu again, warmed it up, and adjusted the fuel press, still turns off every now and then need to make adjustment on TB. Timonex if you dont mind me askin what kind of plugs you running.
Ive got the Bosch plat. 4227, thats what IB suggested for the JUNs.

Get rid of the Bosch's....GOD
. Get some NGK's or DENSO's. With my experience they suck big, hairy donkey nuts. They tend to foul quickly. My boy that owns VT Performance in FL. uses NGK Iridium's on his N/A motor w/ 200 shot and he gets 2 to 4 weeks out of them. You should be much better off considering that you don't have Nitrous.

arent the crower 403 mid lobes alot bigger than the jun 3 mid lobes that can cause a lumpy idle just like toda b's and c's thats just my thought though
when i put my b's in it wouldnt stay running until i adjust the throttle plate

Idle on the Crower 63403s is not that bad. It's not exactly stock either. If you lean out the mixture so it's closer 10:1 or even slightly leaner it idles just fine. My car never stalls at idle or any other time for that matter.
Thats actually why I bought the 403s, Jun cams IMO lack Mid range power, after looking at the numbers I decided to go with the 403s. I prev. ran the skunk2 intake manifold, and the car lacked mid range power. So I stepped up to Victor X manifold to try and just make alot of power on top, but I need the mid-range so
Im just gonna try the crowers, and if I have to, go back to the skunk2 manifold.
Timonex 2 more things... If you dont mind, where is your ignition timing at,
and what are your gear settings just to start off, I wont be able to get the car tuned for like two weeks and I need it to get around. Thanks in advance!!!
