jun 3 cams
JUN III cams are said to be similar to Skunk2 stage 2 cams, I'm getting Skunk2 stage 2 cams. Its safe to say I think they are fairly well suited for the street.
Pros:
-JDM y0!!11
-Great power potential
-Nice power curve
-Better than Toda's
Cons:
-Might shred your timing belt
(get a PE or Toda belt)
-Skunk2 mentions minor idle problems with their stage II's, so thats a definite possibility with JUN's cam.. shouldnt be bad though
-Need a lot of other complimentary parts to get the most out of them. I would recommend PCT (Civic R) pistons rather than PR3, or maybe even some aftermarket slugs with deeper valve reliefs
-Careful tuning required. Too much overlap and your valves will grab each other and your motor will make a cool crunchy noise.

I have JUN 3's and daily drive with them at least 70 miles per day. No problems what so ever. No idle problems, no timing belt problems. I have stock timing belt. Installed these cams about 2 years ago. 70,000 miles and counting.
Wow.. first time I've heard of people running stock Tbelt with big cams. Maybe you know something they don't
BTW, how often do you have to adjust your valves with those cams? More than stock?

So is all the stuff about needing a strong timing belt a load of crap? I can see the reasoning behind it; having cams which the small lobes are bigger than stock VTEC lobes can't be easy on the timing belt and valvetrain. More work = more stress.. yadda yadda

Im gonna go with them so that i wont have to upgrade my valvetrain.IR said that they are compatible with web cam valvetrain not like toda.

I hear stories about timing belts shredding from CAM A and cams snapping from CAM S and then everyone assumes that they are both bad cams. A lot of people jump to conclusions.

ppl who spread rumors r like the worst diseases of this message board. i drove on my JUN 3s for over a yr NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. ran on STOCK T BELT,no timing belt problems (always an issue with TODA) perfect idle, good power, perfect cam.
needs higher compression. id ONLY suggest JUN springs, id never buy a webcam product. needs good header to compliment them.

I've heard stories of cams breaking too, even JUN cams broke in someone's motor, that doesn't mean they are necessarily bad..
oh well. A strong timing belt just seems like cheap insurance to me.
JUN3s
I would take them any day over SK2S2s and I've worked with them both... Normally the Skunks are more similar to an ITR/CTR/Toda cam which produce good midrange but the JUNs are very high strung.... Not to say that ITRs, CTRs, and Toda's aren't but those JUN3s scream on top end... They have a lot of overlap and you'll want to work them them on a high compression motor, your B18C with PR3 slugs should be cool... If you haven't already built the block I would consider P30's or PCT's.... Good Luck

I dynoed a stock B16 with JUN III cams at approx. 3000 ft. I pulled 33 hp over stock, with just cams. I used to daily my civic, but I don't want to deal with the cops anymore. I'm in the works of a 12.5:1 ITR with the JUN III head and some pnp... then it's time for tuning. I'm hoping for about 205 whp... then I'll drive the civic daily. I have no idle issues to speak of. Also it is interesting to not that a similar set up with SK2 cams only laid 26 over stock...
You put down 30hp to the wheels over stock with just cams and nothing else on a b16a? So you're saying you went from 130ish to 160ish? I find that hard to believe, but then again I don' have much experience with cams. Do you have the dyno sheet? I'd like to see it
be very careful when using jun springs. they bind at JUST past 12mm which
leaves very little margin for error. You MUST check install height when using
those springs. its very important.

first off im prolly goin to b called a ****** idiot and whatnot but ive had my JUN head package in 2 different heads over the course of 3 yrs and had no problems at all. my rev limiter is set at 9200 and i never checked install height. dont know how to and i hear on honda heads its a pain in the ***. next yr i might buy new titanium retainers cause i hear they r a "wear" item and should b checked.
