Just drive up on some blocks of wood and use a normal floor jack. I've got a craftsman "High lift SUV Jack". I just drive up on two pieces of 2x6 board, then jack up from the tow hooks on the front and put jackstands under the jack points behind the front wheels. Works great, and my car is pretty low so it should work with pretty much all but the most slammed rides.

just use 2 2x4s, youll be fine. drive it up on them, jack up your car, put the jack stands and youll be set.

lincoln floor jack. NSX guys use them all the time. highest point 20". lowest 3.5" should be ok. i am using the northern tools special. had to remove the cup to use it in the front. or you could by an aluminum floor jack. keep inmind that for emeriencies you'll have to find a good light scissors jack. if you get a flat the car will drop lower than you expected. had to experience that a couple of days ago on the freeway. some inventive jack placement solved that.

I do the same...don't waste your money on those really expensive low jacks, i'm pretty sure they rip you off for 2" less starting height...just drive up on the blocks

I have to drive up on blocks, then use a smaller jack to jack from the side jack point, till i get enough clearence to put the 22" lift jack under the front tow hook point! It's a pain in the *** at first, but i'm used to it, so it doesn't bug me anymore...
It's worth it for the 22" lift!!....15" just didn't get it high enough, couldn't do **** under there!

<FONT COLOR="blue">Is it safe to jack up on the tow hooks in order to get the sides on jack stands??

I.E. can they safely support the weight when its pushing up on them instead of pulling out of them as it wud when being towed??

i usually just used the stock jack and when it was high enough, i'd use a stronger one under the supports.

It depends. The stock tow hook is fine. If you have an aftermarket one, I would check first.

I was only talkin about the center main tow hook on my prelude...i don't know if you have that or not...i have the two off to the side as well, but i wouldn't really want to jack it up from there! I can't even get to that point with my jacks, i have to do the side first, my car is too dam low, and it's only lowered 2 1/4" but that's enought to make me work to jack it up!! I wouldn't have it any higher though, except in the winter!

Yes, the center tow hook is fine. I've always used it as a jack point.

if you're talkin about a hydraulic floor jack, HARBOR FREIGHT sells an aluminum 'race' hydraulic floor jack... it's pretty damn light too. They sell for about $200 or so...totally worth it. Check it out here:
