Default ITR vs CTR......opinions?

i already did a search for this and it yeilded no answers. Ive heard that CTR cams are more "agressive" than ITR cams, but with no real numbers... does anyone have the specs on both these cams to actually put this debate to rest?

I believe 00-01 ITR cams are the same as CTR cams. The intake cam on any ITR below 00 is less aggressive than the CTR intake cam, exhaust cams are the same.

Search for "itr ctr". I discussed this with someone not too long ago so I know it's out there, good luck.

all that is true, also remember the CTR has less TQ than the ITR, different manifolds, ECU and crank/rods pistons. the ITR wastes the CTR... check out the TOV video archive

which doesnt make sense is why the CTR intake cam has a different part # then the 2000 JDM ITR intake cam.

However the exaust cam has the same part #.

It seems to be that the CTR is still SLIGHTLY more agressive.

well if you can find an ITR cam that is from a 00-01 model, then its the exat same thing at the CTR cam. but the ones below 00 are the ones that are just a tiny tiny bit less aggressive on the intake cam side the CTR's.

the difference is something you wouldnt notice unless you do dyno runs. I've heard people say it's about 2-3hp more and others say it puts down the same hp - conflicting answers... so Id get the 00+itr/ctr cams only if it's the same price or marginally more.

well if it was the same, honda would have made it the same part number.... and they didnt.

But honestly, find a set thats cheap. I found my 00's local for 320, which isnt too bad.

Just becareful, eye the vtec cam lobe, its easy to tell the difference between ITR and every other cam.
