Usually your front wheels or rear wheels will lockup first -- knowing that really helps to determine your problem.

That said, I have ITR brakes on an EG, and the first week I had it I locked up a few times - one time on the highway doing 50+mph (really scared the personbehind me). After that I was a little more gentle with the brake pedal and haven't locked up (on the street) since.

Either you bias is off, and you're locking up the fronts or rears way too soon, or your just not used to your new brake pedal/power and need to grow into it.

If you slam on the brake of course its going to lock up. You dont have abs.

try rebleeding and double check your mc/booster. This happened to a friend of mine and the lock up problem was related to his mc/booster.

Was the MC ever removed from the booster? and if it was, did you put it back together correctly??

I wasn't happy with the proportioning when I did an LS brake swap and prop valve swap onto my EG (fronts locked up easily), so I had a wilwood adjustable prop valve custom fit to my brake lines. Since the front/rear weight bias is different between different models (integra and civic), simply grabbing that model's brakes and prop valve isn't going to give you the correct bias.

Or just get some grippier tires up front.

ok..
I just talked to my friend about his 5-lug lock up brake problems he had when first installed a couple years ago. First off, he picked up an integra 15/16 MC & 1" booster on seperate occasions; they weren't bought as 1 complete MC & booster, which is probably why he had a lock-up problem to begin with....mismatched parts.

He was saying that his lock up problems were due to his 15/16" MC. The part of the MC that gets inserted into the booster has a little 'tounge' that pushes on something inside of the booster (we'll just call it a B]****[/B] for shitz n' giggles). When you step on your brake pedal this tounge comes out and touches the **** (LOL). This tounge is suppose to stay receeded into the MC whenever the pedal is not pressed upon.

Well, my friends 15/16" MC's tounge was pushing on the boosters **** (hahah) just ever so slightly, which it shouldn't have been doing in the first place (it should've been receeded). Of course this wasn't found out till after the fact...

Anways, once his brake system was bled and ready, he went to out for a test drive. The car rolled outta the driveway just fine, drove around the block, but when he started to brake and let off the brake pedal, thats when it locked up and he had to drive home smoking the **** outta his brakes..lol.

As mentioned above, he ultimately found that the tounge inside his 15/16 MC wasn't receeding back into the MC once he let his foot off the brake pedal, and remained in contact with the Booster's **** (lol) which was creating this gradual brake lock up problem. This was probably due to the fact that he was using a this 15/16" MC on a booster thats meant for a 1" M/C. So to fix his problem, he picked up a 1" MC, applied it and no more lock up problems.

Now, I'm not sure if this pertains to your specific scenerio or anyone elses on here, but using the corresponding MC with the proper booster (whether it be a 15/16" or 1" size) would be of concern.

Anyone having this lock up problem who know their running a complete integra 15/16 or 1" MC & Booster?
