Default Integra Type R Cluster

So I bought a spare JDM Integra Type R cluster a year or so ago, I finally got around to testing it, as I want to sell it. I tested it out and everything works besides the temperature gauge. As soon as I turn the key switch, the Temperature needle soars past the Red mark and into the overheating area. Obviously the car isn't overheating. As soon as I re install my stock cluster, everything works great. Any ideas on where to start? I would prefer to repair the cluster so I can make my money back. . .

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure of the interchangeability of the various integras and their temp gauges. My thought is to go ahead and try to find someone with a used cluster from maybe an ls; pull the old temp gauge out, pull the needle, swap the gauge face, and replace the new one back in the ITR cluster..... I am not 100% positive if it will work (possible compatibility issues). but that to me sounds like a malfunction in the actual temp gauge itself and I doubt if you would want to take the time to tear apart the servo/motor/unit/thingy-majiggy (whatever) to try and repair it. Good Luck though and keep us posted if it was an easy fix!
