i have a 97 integra with b20 v and gsr transmission. Last month when i tried starting my car it would click. I tapped on the starter with a rubber mallet and the car starts. (this problem usually happenes when the car sits for more than 4 hours). I buy a new starter and the car starts up fine for about 3 weeks. On the 4th week it had a quick pause when i turn the key then starts up. Today i started my car and The same problem, the car wont start until i tap on the starter.


*Car wont start "click"
*Tap on starter and the car turns on.
*I change starter and works fine for about 3 weeks
*After a month the motor pauses before it turns over
*Back to tapping on the new starter
*battery is fine

 

Aftermarket starter?
Ive seen ALOT of aftermarket parts go bad prematurely or even be defective out of the box...Alternators too...Talk to the parts store you bought it from. They should be able to warranty it..
