My B16 Intake manifold cracked. Right down the middle on the 4th runner.

I noticed on day my car was idleing at 2k instead of its normal 800. Hairline crack almost all the way around..

Car is not boosted or sprayed.

JB weld works fine for now though..

Anyone else ever run into this problem?

 

I've seen it a couple of times in the past. No explination at all. Have it welded back together, or use it as an excuse to upgrade.

 

Is the manifold brace missing?

 

Hmmm, maybe I should put that manifold brace back on my motor.

lol yea I took mine off too. My ITR intake manifold cracked right by the coolant passage from my dumbass tightening it too much.

Nothing some JB weld couldn't fix.

 

well ive never personally seen it happen, but apparently Brian O'Connor had enough NOS to do it..lol jk..never happend to me

Yes it is...

I didnt think that there was really that much weight there... Damn.

 

Remember that all the weight is at the end, hanging a foot off the motor. And with all that weight out there, it is susceptible to vibration as well. Just think, you're a quarter of the way to putting ITBs on it!
