Installing Coolant Temp Warning Light System
I'd like to install a warning light that automatically turns on if my car ever begins to overheat. Any ideas where I should mount a temperature switch? Also, at what temperature does the car start to overheat or get "too hot"? I'm assuming around 220 degrees or so, just wanted some input. TIA
Found this on Autometer's website, looks like a start:

Any suggestions where I should "tee" the switch into?

The radiator fan on most models runs when the temp switch closes and completes the fan circuit ground when the engine gets hot enough. You could just tap the ground side of your warning light into the switch leg of the fan circuit.
