Installing chip?!
I am thinking about getting a chip for my ecu, I was just wandering how hard it is? I have done just about every other thing on a car but have never tried it, anyone ever done this? Any suggestions, should I get a shop to do it?

you may need to desolder some of the solder that's in the holes before you start soldering the chip in. it makes life a lot easier.

lol, it's so normal to me i don't even think of it as desoldering anymore... Only when there's a chip to take out... woops... i stand corrected... If you can desolder/solder...
It's not THAT hard, if you can de-solder and solder. The de-soldering is more difficult IMO. I used and old ECU to learn on and made a mess of it by the time I was done. The first real ECU looked fine after that. If you're not real confident in your skills, I would have someone do it for you.
