Installed new speed sensor, didn't fix!

I have a 98 ex with a working tach, fuel and oil guage. Speedometer doesn't work, got the code so I replaced the speed sensor. Didn't do anything, what could it be?

Speedometer can be replaced, try a different cluster.

Obviously the wiring from the sensor to the ecu is bad since the tach works fine

is this easily replaceable? it does seem the connector has seen better days. A bad cluster would give off a cel?

A lot of times these VSS connectors get corroded due to the location they are in and the connectors either break or the connector itself breaks causing a bad connection.
