what exactly is your question?

my question is why would you want a test pipe on a street car?

Especially for those who live in an area like me and don't have to worry about CARB.

Sometimes when you take out the stock cat and put in a testpipe you actually lose power. The dyno is on the honda-perf.com board when they dyno tested the B20 it lost a few hp and ft. lbs. of trq.

You might want to check if you are referring to a gutted cat or a test pipe, because a there is no reason an actual test pipe that is that same diameter all the way through would lower horsepower. A gutted cat with larger chamber on the other hand can obviously cause the exhaust gasses to circulate and possibly back up.

correct. there is no reason a test pipe looses power.

if you don't realize that exhaust gases backing up into your motor is a bad thing then you have alot of research to do. free flow OUT of the motor is the objective of the exhaust.

Exactly, thank you Ryan. Same idea as if you were to have a header that the ports were not matched to your head and the exhaust gases circulated and re-entered the combustion chamber. Your air to fuel ratio would suck, it would run like crap.
