Install rod bolt with engine in car?????
Yes, depending on the engine. I installed a #4 rod bolt in my 91 Integra with the engine in the car.
If your engine has a girdle on the mains (I *believe* all D-series have them, someone can confirm or not, and b18 vtec engines do as well...) you may not be able to get in there without removing it, which makes it trickier. You would probably have to support the crank if the girdle had to come out.
Anyway, I had to drop the exhaust, crossmember and oil pan and that was it.

You shouldn't have a girdle (unless it's been added). You'll have to pull the oil pickup and windage tray off, but I think you should be able to access them all by turning the engine by hand (be sure not to turn it the wrong way, though - you could skip teeth on the timing belt).
