Default Install Cost??

I like to wrench my own stuff as much as possible, but this project seems a little tough. i'm buyin the spoon sports engine rebuild kit, which comes with a crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, rings, and head gasket. any rough ideas on how much a normal engine shop would charge to install all this stuff??

much thanks

Ouch. That's about as exact an amount as I can give.

The one time I didn't do the work myself, I got raped for $1800 and my car blew the head less than a week later.....never again.

Besides, pick up a manual and a couple friends - you'll know the engine inside and out! Cheaper labor, and if anything gets fucked, you know who did it!

Get some knowledgeable friends over and do it over a weekend. It's a good amount of work but nothing impossible. Don't cut corners or cheap out on small things and everything will go properly

Get a helms and do it yourself that way you know exactly whats going on with everthing. Its easy just take your time and you'll be fine, just ge the block preped by a good machine shop and check their work when done. Plasigauge will be you best friend.. But if you dont feel comfortable with all this you can pay around 1500 to bout 1800 to do it right, if the shop gives a damn.. Good luck dude
