Inserting the pistons from the bottom?
Got the answer - thanks.
I have the motor in the car. Dont feel like pulling it out but well if the following not possible or not recommend for various reasons. If all I want to do is change the pistons out could I just drop the oil pan, crank, rods and pistons ... change the pistons - reconnect them to the rods and assemble everything back together all from the bottom of the motor.
Thanks
Matt
A hone is not necessary. This motor has not yet been started. Brand new. I just am thinking about a higher CR piston.

My concern in the rings and pins if inserting the piston from the bottoms is going to affect them anyway. I dont think so but im 100% sure.

you cant pull the pistons out the bottom. they will not fit passed the mains.
hell you cant even pull the crank out without removing the transmission.......and if your gonna go through the trouble of removing the tranny in another 20min you could have the whole engine out.
