Input shaft bearing problem
I have to replace the input shaft bearing in a y8 tranny... except the inner ring has already came out, leaving JUST the outer ring of the bearing.. I have no idea how to get it out.. I need to get it out ASAP.
Any idea how?
Thanks

That's happened to me once. I still had the inner sleeve and the ball bearings, so I just epoxied the ball bearings and inner sleeve back in and then knocked it out.
You can do something simpler by wedging filler material between the ball bearings to get everything to hold in place.

Yeah that's what we ended up doing. We put the bearing back together and used some JB-Weld... letting it cure overnight so we'll see how it goes.
What did you use to pop the bearing out after you epoxied it?

I have the blind hole puller/slide hammer tool from Honda and I have a blind hole puller tool set from OTC that I could use, but I find the easiest thing to do is to stick a 9" extension at an angle from behind the bearing and hammer it out.
