inline fuel filter install
i was about to install a earls inline fuel filter in my 92 civic.
looking at pictures i noticed a lot of people ran the filter on the right side of the fuel rail. wouldnt this not make sense because the dirty fuel already went into the motor and all youre doing is filtering the fuel that goes back into the tank... i mean i know it will be clean after a FULL cycle but how likely is that to happen and each time u get gas the motor will catch the initial dirt.
so im thinking run it on the left side, but my question is what do i do with the stock fuel filter in and out lines.... the in is a hardline, is there a way i can change the hose from the firewall and make it into a -8an fitting? what would i need to do for this? i searched but couldnt find a how-to or anything that was helpful for installing the inline fuel filter.

There is a brass fitting that you can use, you need to cut off the flared end and measure the metal fuel line. Its metric but find the closest SAE size and buy a "5/16 pipe coupler to a 1/4 female NPT" fitting. Or whatever size pipe it is, then use a "1/4 npt by -8an" and there you go.
