Default initial startup question

I just recently finished building my new B18c1 for my 92 civic and all the parameters have been checked and double checked. Oil pump is primed and i have fuel to the rail. My question is, is it ok to let it warm up and run for a few minutes and then shut it off? Or should i let it warm and immediately take it for a break in drive. Will the few minutes of idle shorten my chances of proper break in? Mainly because i was reading that web page that tells you how to break in an engine for 20 miles with harder acceleration and then an oil change after the 20.

Any engine I rebuild I will fire it up and let it get to running temp, turn it off and change the oil and filter, then take it for a spin at no more then 50-60 KPH for no more then 50km and do another oil/filter change, then put 500km increasing speed every 100km, another oil and filter, then start pushing harder and harder for another 500km, one more oil and filter change, check/reset valves and timing, check all nuts and bolts, I'm done, some say I am being ****, but then again I have never had a problem with an engine I have rebuilt.
With that said, all 10 or so engines have been Chev or Ford 6 cyl or V8 engines, the 1.8L LS I am rebuilding now is my first Honda 4 banger, I will do the break in the same way on it as the others. 94
