quick oil filter question...

quick oil filter question...
maybe really stupid question but if i take out the oil filter first before i drain it would oil spill from the oil pan other than the oil still left in the filter?? i ask this question cause my friend who did my last oil change at his shop tightend the filter to tight and i couldnt get it loose in time for work so i through in the new oil without the new filter which i will change tomorrow and so with my question...

if you don't have a filter wrench heres a little tip. get a phillips screw driver and stab your filter. punch the screw driver all the way through. now turn

even with the front of my car lifted on stands (so my car is gonna be at an angle)?? i dont want oil poored on my face ...yea i think i gota get one of those oil filter wrentches to help me grip that son of a filter...grr...how much do those adjustable oil wrentches go for??

same what the other first guy said. dont lose the new oil. dran it all, put oil in filter, screw it on. put the new oil in. ez as hell
