Default impact wrench

i have a 1/2" drive impact wrench....i just bought me sockets for it and the walls of the socket are too thick for my lugnuts....i have two questions

1) can i use my regular sockets (the ones that are used w/ ratchets) with the impact wrench?

2)do they sell thin wall impact sockets?

thanks.

btw...i have craftsman tools if that matters.

AFAIK, the only reason people don't use regular sockets in an impact wrench is because the shiny chrome will get knocked off.

The regular sockets are all I've ever used, and no problems. I guess the chrome could chip off and blind you, but hey...
I don't think we've ever broke one, even standing there for a couple minutes impacting suspension bolts. And if they do break, hey, lifetime warranty.

Me too. My friends uncle said they used to ask you if you were using the sockets for impact purposes. Now they don't even care.

Craftsman Deep well sockets are what I use for the wheels. 19mm if I remember correctly. I think it was under 6 bucks

people dont use regular sockets because they'll break after a while.. thats why they make impact sockets. a few times wont break a regular socket right away or anything, well it also depends on the gun you have.. but regular sockets should work, if not alot of companies do make thinwall impact sockets
