What the heck is it? Does a non AC equiped b series engine use a diffrent belt off the crank pully?

looking through the servace manual it shows how to pull the belt off but I can find anything else about it.
Anyone?

its only there for the a/c if your car dont have ac then you dont have use for it

An idler pulley, in general, is an inactive, "dead" pulley that is used to change the routing of the belt to suit other accessories on the system. It can be placed to optimize the wrap angle around the pulleys of surrounding accessories.
