The problem is the idle air control valve. Remove it from the intake manifold and inspect it. Either the screen is clogged or the spring inside has broke.

what if car idles smoothly, but when I rev it slowly, when it gets to 1500 rpm, it starts to jump? it only jumps when I rev it slowly while in neutral, if I rev it fast it just flys right but 1500 rpm. It's a pain in the *** to start off from a light without reving it very high. Again car idles like a sleeping baby!
