Default Idle problem with b16a

My car idles up and down at 3500 - 5000 rpm help me what is wrong i checked map sensor iacv and checked for vacuum leaks but there is none and I did not change my tps could it be my tps? plus when I covered one of the holes in the throttle body (theres two of them) then the idle settled down to 800rpm which is cherry but in the backround once in awhile it would start surging up and down from 1000-1500 rpm what is my problem and if i drive my car with one of the idle air holes covered in the throttle body would that damage my engine? please let me know thanks alot ahead of time......

Things to look at first: Spark plugs, wires, distributor, fuel pump, injectors, cam timing (lash) and a compression test.

Have you done all of the above?
