hi, well i had this strange idle problem, when i reved the car the idle would drop, raise, hold then drop slowly, so i took iacv and the tb of, cleaned the tv with wd40, and cleaned the iacv with petrol. left it for a few days while i waited for gaskets to arrive, on the day of fitting i cleaned the iacv with carb cleaner, let it dry, then installed everything.

now this is where the idle problem began, the car would idle at 1500 even when warm, bled the coolant system, air came out, but didnt make a big difference to the idle. and when you touched the throttle, the idle would fluctuate erraticly, my engine is a 96spec itr engine, so it dont have a fitv.
i put my finger in the tb, in the corner, and the car died instantly...

honda guy around here told me there is some sealent around the butterfly and that i could of cleaned it off and now extra air is entering the tb, causing high idle.

anything else i can do to eliminate the idle problems, ie test the iacv?

What motor do you have? If it mpfi there is a idle/air screw you can adjust your idle with.
