Default idle issue

gsr head on b16 block in ek...motor runs great just idles erraticly btween 1000-1500, but does not do it when it starts. i pulled the intake off and plugged the holes in the tb and the motor kept running, and started to idle well. then i unplugged the iacv and the motor continued to idle nearly perfectly. im suspecting its a vaccum leak, but cant find it. any other suggestions

just found that it was the tb gasket

If you have a fitv you should disassemble it and bottom out the valve. How to fix the fitv
Clean the screen in the iacv. Air in the cooling system can cause a fluctuating idle.
Use carb cleaner to locate you leak if you have one. Idle will change when you locate it.

After i do all this my idle issues are solved.

You won't see bubbles because it's in a vacuum. The carb cleaner will get sucked into the intake and change your idle. Did you bleed the cooling system and check the iacv?

iacv was alittle gunked up but i cleaned it..and yes the coolant system is bleed.......it has to be a vaccum leak bc the motor should die when i cover that hole in the tb

ok i looked through that before, but my question is this.....if the iacv is the only source of air for the motor when the car is idling, then shouldnt the car stall out bc of no air to ignite with the fuel if i plug the hole in the tb?

and btwn yes it does smooth out my idle when i disconnect the plug to the iacv.
