I still have a code 6 after replacing the ECT sensor WTF!?!?!?
Ok I had/have a code 6, engine coolant tempreture sensor, I replaced the sensor but still have the CEL. What did I miss or do wrong? All help will be apprecaited. Thank you
check the connector... pins may be bent and not making contact. what kind of car? engine? done any wiring mods lately?
reseting the ecu wont do it. If the ignition is turned on the ecu does a system check and then throws the code its usually a wiring problem. If it goes on while driving, most times, its a defective sensor.
Thanks for the quick replies. I have not done any wiring lately, the motor is a b18c5 and the car is a 92 civic vx. I just replaced the sensor today. I thought that I rest the ECU, I took the + battery cable off and took out the fuses buy the shock tower. I started up the car the CEL did not comes on at first but then about 2 seconds later it was there mocking me. How do I properly reset the ecu? maybe I did it wrong. Thanks agian for your help

Ok I checked all the plugs and on the ground on the thermostat housing I even used sand paper to "clean" the area. I started up the car and the idle was smooth then about 1 minute later the CEL came back on and the idle was higher again, WTF!?!?!?!?!?
is the valve cover grounds hooked up? these are very important. you have to make sure the ground is on a valve cover stud and the chassis. what car/engine?
