ECU Code 9 CYP Sensor
I did my tune-up today and as I was changing the rotor and cap I noticed the CYP Sensor was dirty. So I unscrewed it and cleaned it off. Now I put everything back together and I have the CYP Sensor light coming on through my check engine light (code 9). The car runs a lot better since I changed everything but now I have that check engine light...any suggestions on what I could have done wrong?....do you think cleaning it made the ecu realize it's faulty?...is it something I have to fix before I can drive again?
the thing is that to replace the sensor i have to get a new distributor because they don't sell the sensor alone or separate...which sucks...so i know i have to buy one regardless...i just kinda want to know if it will be ok to drive the car like that until i can get one...thanks for the help though

Find another distributor and swap the internals out for that of a working distributor. I swapped the guts from a 90 DX distributtor into a 89 OBD0 B16 distributor and later on that same day did the same thing with another OBD0 B16 distributor, the second time I took the guts from a 91 LS dizzy. Both worked perfect and are still running fine over a year later.
hey guys i don't mean to sound like an *** but I know what I need to do to fix the problem...my question is can i drive the car like this for a few days until i can find another dizzy?....thanks for the idea's though...
