Hey,

I have a question for more car savy people than myself. I have a 2001 Honda Civic and my car started making funny noises so I had a mechanic look at it. He said my air compressor and to replace it would be $1200 and I do not have that kind of money to fix it. So here sre my questions:

Can I drive my car with a bad air compressor? If so, what are the risks?

Can I bypass the compressor?

Is their a way to stop the noise it makes?

I just want to know what my options b/c I dont have the money to fix it. Please help!!!

 

Air compressor 1200 bucks? da fuq? Don't use the A/C or take it somewhere else.

 

yea from what i hear 1200 bucks is an outragous price....i just wont use ac and get by

 

If you dont want to use the a/c....remove/cut off the belt running the compressor and the noise will go away.

 

the belt also runs pther componets like the alternator so i do not think i can cut it. Thats why i asked about getting a smaller belt and skipping it.

 

Pretty sure there are two different belts for alternator and compressor.

 

why not just unplug compressor clutch.
