I CAN'T START MY HATCH
Does anybody know how to test a starter to determine if it is good or if it is bad. I bought a used starter thinking that was the problem, and then i tried starting it and it sounded the same (click click click click).
the coil is popping out the starter gear but it is not spinning. Does that mean that i might have a bad connection maybe?
I tried jump starting it and that doesn't work either, i have about 18.5 volts on my battery and i couldn't start the damn thing. I thought that maybe it was my battery that was the problem. I bought a die hard batt. about three weeks ago.
So if anybody knows how to make the starter pop out and spin while it is out of the car, i would love to here about it. thanks.

take a like 4 gauge wire and run it from your battery to the bolt (where it gets the power) on the starter. if the starter is ok it should start spinning the starter over when you touch the wire to the bolt.
i asked my dad how to test and i tested it to be good. The car had a bad ground connection. I fixed that and put the starter in... no problems and it started right up and i've started it up three or four different times now. At least i figured it out and i don't think that it is my sub and amp. that is what i thought it was in the first place but now i am almost positive the ground is where the problem lied.
