Default hydrolock?

When you have a CAI and you go through a puddle and pull water through the intake what parts are damaged when an engine is hydrolocked? I'm looking at buying an engine in this situation and I only realy want the pistons and head off of it. Will this engine be OK for my application? I'm building an LS/VTEC and I only want the head and pistons off of this hydrolocked B16.

hydrolocking can damage the valves, pistons, rods, cylinder walls and any connecting parts to those. Im sure there are others, but they escape me right now. Becuase these things can go wonky, they can also chew up the head pretty good if the motor doesnt immediatly die.

Bottom line: You better be getting this motor for cheap.

Usually bent rod or two.Sometimes a cracked cylinder.Head should be ok, but pistons maybe iffy.

usually bent rods. when i locked mine. I actually got to run just fine for 2 weeks. Then the rod snapped and put a big hole thru the block. my Cousin has hydro-locked he's motor TWICE. That freakin motor is still running. I dont believe it myself. You just never really know the damage. But just to be on the safe side i wouldn't trust it.
